Meet out dads
If you've been visiting our website for some time, you know that I would show each mom and each dad of each litter. I decided to dedicate my kitten pages to photos and videos of just the kittens and let our visitors meet the parents on our "Meet our Dads" and our "Meet our Moms" pages. We have a number of both queens and breeding boys in our breeding program. These 2 pages will only introduce to moms and dads for current litters. You will see the titles for our show cats, both the boys and the girls on our Champion Hall page.
Below are photos of our dads and a little about each one. We adore the boys. Even the whole boys ("whole" meaning not altered) are lovers. Several never made it to the show halls for one reason or another, but they're all lovers!
Curl Essence Obsessed with Chocolate... or "Opie" for short.
Opie is a chocolate smoke. We showed him a lot as a kitten mostly because of his unusual color. This is a color that is just not seen in the US in just about any breed. Chocolate is a dilute of the black gene. His dad is Po who is a black smoke. Opie is the first solid chocolate with smoke undercoat we've ever seen. Opie is also a smaller boy. Plus, he has a fantastic coat and profile... all the things we're looking for in a good show/breed cat.
We bred him to 4 girls early this year (2018) to see what we could expect from him. We didn't get the chocolate smoke like dad, but he showed that his genetics would produce consistently nice curled ears and sweet, sweet personalities. |
Curl Essence The Right Hand of the Lord... or "Handy" for short.
Handy is a seal lynx point. He was unbelievably fun to show. He was as pretty as he is in this photo of him, and he knew it. The judges loved him. He loved to show off for them, and for his public. We would let him lay on our "grooming stand" (a table in front of our benching cages at the show) where spectators could walk by and see him. He would lay in this exact same pose as in this photo as if to say "I'm so pretty. Go ahead and tell me so."
We put him with Colette for summer/fall babies. Colette is one of our older queens. We haven't bred her for a while so we're not sure she can still get pregnant. There's a photo of her on the Meet our Moms page. She's beautiful and always gave us some gorgeous show quality kittens.

Curl Essence In Light of His Glory... or "Glory" for short.
Glory is a red and white bicolor. We never showed Glory. Some cats just don't have the personality the judges want to see in the show halls. Glory, however, is a new bloodline we had been developing for years out of our Curlniques lines. We only put Silver Belle in with him because he seemed lonely. At the time, we thought Silver Belle was past the age to have babies anymore. As it turned out, Glory didn't agree with us.
We haven't used Glory for breeding that much, but when we did, he gave us some of the most outstanding, stunning cats. |
Curl Essence Help in Time of Need... or "Timmy" for short.
Timmy's awards are all posted on our Champion Hall page. But the titles don't tell you much about his personality which is why we had so much fun showing him and why he is so special to us. He won the titles partially on is good looks, but also on his sweet personality. Timmy loves our attention.
