Simba, Charlotte's red silver boy
Pics and video taken 7/4...
These babies have had the run to the entire bedroom and bathroom for over a week now. Usually, the kittens will go back into the large cage and find a place on one of the tall condos for their naps. Not these guys. Maybe it's the heat, but we'll usually find them in the middle of the room or on the tile floor in the daytime. At night, they are on the bed. I came in just to sit and say hi to the babies. Once they woke up, they were all in for some 'hands on' time. Usually. if I'm planning to take pictures or videos, I'll ask Mike to come help to entertain them while I take the pictures. This was just spur of the moment and I was by myself socializing with the kittens.
Now that I got these kids awake in in play more, they are playing and romping all over the room. I took a couple new stills and videos while I was waiting for the new videos of each kitten to upload.
BTW, these videos probably won't play well on your phones. The files are probably too big. I have to watch them on my desktop. |
We took these this morning on 6/24. |
We brought Charlotte and her babies into the master bedroom on Monday. We decided they were ready to have the run of the entire room today... they agreed wholeheartedly.

We don't let the kittens have the run of the entire bedroom until we're pretty sure they are too big to crawl through the wire on the big cage in the masterbedroom.
Once they find out they can have the run of the room, there is usually one in each group that thinks he or she should be able to decide escape when we put them back up at night and if they are just small enough to get their head through but not the shoulders, they get stuck and we're in rescue mode. Then, eventually, one will decide to climb to the top of the big cage but doesn't know how to get back down. (It's 12ft high.) We end up keeping the ladder in the bedroom to rescue the kitten on top of the cage.
I have 6 short videos of Charlotte's babies of when we first brought them out of the big cage in the master bedroom and put them on the bed. I'm posting them on different pages so if you want to see all of them, click on the different pages for Mikita, Skeye, Simba and Shogi. Keep in mind that this is the firs they have had the run of the entire room. We'll take new photos of them sometime next week when they have made this room their own.
Mike and I were blown away when we took these latest photos of Simba. That red is a very special color. Many of our red boys have a darker tone to the red. Simba has this bright red to his coat. I really hope it shows in these photos. Simba and Puff took a little longer to decide to chase the toy than Skeye and Mikita when we brought them out for these photos, but once they go over investigating the new surroundings, they went crazy chasing the toy. Every time either of us go into check on these babies, they all come to the front of the cage and beg for us to open it and pick them up. They are still a little small to bring into the master with us... they would just crawl through the wire. In another week or two tops, well bring them into the large double cage in the bedroom. Then a couple more days, and we'll close the bedroom doors and let them have the run of the room.
