"Puff/Shogi", Charlotte's cream point boy
Shogi is a super sweet boy. From the first time we picked him up, he would just snuggle into the palms of our hands and stare up at us with those big blue eyes. He still likes to be picked up and held. It doesn't look like Shogi will have much color even when he's older. There's this faint hint of cream showing on his tail, but we're not seeing much color on is face or feet yet. Now, the red gene on these cream points can continue to darken as they get older. Storm is the example. At a year old, he still only had a light cream on his points. At 2 yrs, it got a little darker. I used to think an all white cat would be pretty, but once we got Storm, I changed my mind. That little hint of color gives the kitties so much more character.

These babies have had the run to the entire bedroom and bathroom for over a week now. Usually, the kittens will go back into the large cage and find a place on one of the tall condos for their naps. Not these guys. Maybe it's the heat, but we'll usually find them in the middle of the room or on the tile floor in the daytime. At night, they are on the bed. I came in just to sit and say hi to the babies. Once they woke up, they were all in for some 'hands on' time. Usually. if I'm planning to take pictures or videos, I'll ask Mike to come help to entertain them while I take the pictures. This was just spur of the moment and I was by myself socializing with the kittens.
BTW, these videos don't play well on my phone... they might not on yours either. The files are too big and they keep stopping to upload more of the file. I have to watch on my desktop.
This is the name Mike chose for this little guy. It's not particularly creative, but it does fit his personality. Puff has always been a real smuggler . I'll talk about him more once I get pictures posted of this litter. His new owner has named him Shogi.... what a cool name!

We don't let the kittens have the run of the entire bedroom until we're pretty sure they are too big to crawl through the wire on the big cage in the masterbedroom.

Once they find out they can have the run of the room, there is usually one in each group that thinks he or she should be able to decide escape when we put them back up at night and if they are just small enough to get their head through but not the shoulders, they get stuck and we're in rescue mode. Then, eventually, one will decide to climb to the top of the big cage but doesn't know how to get back down. (It's 12ft high.) We end up keeping the ladder in the bedroom to rescue the kitten on top of the cage.
I have 6 short videos of Charlotte's babies of when we first brought them out of the big cage in the master bedroom and put them on the bed. I'm posting them on different pages so if you want to see all of them, click on the different pages for Mikita, Skeye, Simba and Shogi. Keep in mind that this is the firs they have had the run of the entire room. We'll take new photos of them sometime next week when they have made this room their own.

I had a request for videos and new photos of both Mikita and Shpgi. I'm adding a slideshow of the still photos of these two cuties to both pages. There are several videos and they take much longer to post so I'm dividing them and putting some on each kitten's individual pages.

Here are a couple of the videos taken this morning. You can see in the videos, that Puff a more of a "gentle" character. He's just as playful when he's not competing for the toy. He's a "softer" personality. When I went into the nursery this morning to scoop their box, he was the first to greet me and hang with me to get me to rub his back all over. Mikita came of too, but not until I was done scooping and she saw me petting Puff. She realized she was missing out and decided she needed to claim her share of the attention. However, when it came time to bring out the toy, she was all over it instantly. Puff would hang back a little because he was hesitant to compete with her. So watch for those characteristics in the different videos.
This was the first video we took of these two this morning. I'll add them in order that we took them so you can see the progression of how they adapted to this new environment and interacted as we teased them with this little toy. (BTW, these are the toys we use at cat shows. They can't resist the little mouse or bug on the wire.)
