Louise, Brittany and Opie Blue Girl... |
Louise is a blue tabby girl born on Jan 16.

Brittany is a pretty little calico girl. We had intended to show her, but Brittany was one of those "tom girls" as a youngster. She was convinced she was unbreakable and could swing from the chandeliers. She was in one of her "fly through the air" moods one day and as she leaped from the top of one of our tall bookshelves, a bookend followed her down and fell on her back leg which broke her leg. The vet put the leg in a soft cast for 8 weeks but unfortunately, her back legs are not as perfectly straight as they were before the accident. Straight legs is a BIG deal in the show halls. We may still decide to show her someday, but we had to give up on expecting the big finals. Until then, we've let her have babies, which she LOVES, LOVES, LOVES! She is a terrific mom!

Brittany's babies are 5 wks old in these new pictures. They are enjoying their big 8ft. long nursery cage. We have this cage setup with lots of carpeted shelves and 2 custom made condos and a carpeted tunnel that fit nicely in this cage so they can get lots of exercise.

Louise is a blue silver. The older she gets, the more you can see the silver undercoat coming in. We took these photos today with Louise and Tiffany together. I cropped a couple with just Louise, but I'm also including a slide show with both girls. We find that when we are bringing the kittens into the bathroom for photos where we have more light, they are less anxious when we bring them with a friend. Hope you enjoy the new pics.

Louise is just 3 weeks old in these photos. Mom and babies are in our long 8' run. I set it up with a little gazebo for her to have her babies in, but last week, they all started wandering out of the gazebo which really upset mom.
|
At this point, she wants to make sure she can keep them corralled in a safe "nest". Besides that, they are small enough that they could crawl through the cage wires. So I swapped the gazebo with a 45" octagon playpen. Mom is much happier, and Mike and I can rest easy knowing we don't have to worry about the babies either.
Several days later... eyes open. Yah!
These are the 2 little girls. The darker one in front is going to be a dark blue. Her new owner has named her Louise.
