Breed Presentation Training
Each approved breed is supposed to provide a training slide show to teach judges how they are expected to evaluate each breed. In 2014, as Breed Council Secretary for the American Curl, Mike prepared a 64 page full color training manual to CFA detailing every rated characteristic for the American Curl. I'm including several of the pages to illustrate particular features breeders should be striving for and what judges should be looking for in an American Curl.
First... the overall point system for evaluating a curl.
Note the overall % for evaluating a Curl puts 30% on the ears alone. That's huge. The ears should be tall and well rounded. This is particularly important in a long hair Curl because the ears can hide in the coat of a LH cat, whereas in the short hair Curls, the ears will always be dominate.
