Brittany and Handy family... |
Brittany's babies were born on 8/24. She has 3 little CP girls and 1 CP boy.

Dawn, Brittay's bicolor girl |
Dawn has such an interesting colored coat. Bicolors are always interesting, but some are just so unique and different that it just deserves special attention. Dawn is one of those. Most bicolors are "one of a kind", but I don't know that we've ever seen the swirl of colors you see on Dawn.

Here are the latest pics and video of Dawn...
I call Dawn my 'houdini kitty'. Of all of Brittany's kittens, Dawn is the one that thinks she shouldn't have to stay in the cage with her littermates. I've given up trying to secure the doors so she can't squeeze out. She might finally be big enough that she can't get through the small opening where the door latches. On both doors, where it latches, the wires are about 1/4" wider than the rest of the cage. This little girl knows just how to push that door enough so that she can squeeze out. ... But here's the thing. She never goes anywhere. We've found her halfway down the stairs, but most of the time, she just hangs out on the 4ft condo outside the bedroom. It's the strangest thing... I'll be walking down the hallway in the dark, and I'll notice a light colored cat on top of this little condo out of the corner of my eye. I reach out to pet whichever cat is there as I'm passing by, and it will be this little girl.

We brought each of Brittany's babies into the bathroom where we could take these pics and short video under better light than in the nursery.

I made a comment on Dawn's short video about how outgoing she is. Of these 4 kittens, Dawn is definitely the most outgoing. She gets that from mom. Brittany is super sweet. I really can't even say that enough to really describe Brittany. She is like my shadow. She follows me absolutely everywhere. I can call her from just about anywhere in the house and she'll come find out what I want. But she's also that one cat in the house that doesn't think some of my rules apply to her. She's like that youngest child that is so spoiled that she thinks that just because I say 'no', she knows I'm never going to get all that mad. Dawn is probably the most affectionate of this litter. She was definitely the outgoing when we brought out the toys. She's going to need a new home that will love the socks off of her and will play with her A LOT.
10/03...
We brought them out 2 at a time. At this age, it's kind of hard to distinguish between them, so I'm looking for some small significant marking on each one. I'll point out these little differences when I upload the pictures. First a slideshow of Dustin, Brittany's seal point boy and Dawn, a seal and white bicolor girl. Usually, the kittens want to sniff around when we first bring them out for pictures, but not Dawn. She started chasing the little frog the moment we put her down. Dustin decided to join in but he wanted to look around a little first. Dustin is the darkest of these 4 kittens. Dawn is probably the lightest. In the bright lights, its easier to see the seal and white areas.
9/19... I promised better pics of Brittany's babies. I took a bunch because I they were moving around so much that I had a hard time getting what I liked for the different kittens. She has 3 girls and 1 boy. Because it was so hard to get good shots of each one, I took a couple of short videos to show you their colors and why I was having trouble. The little boy is the darker one, The really light girl is already a pistol. She's constantly whining and scratching to get our of her litter cage. We couldn't be happier with this litter. They are all beautiful! Here goes.....
9/2...I tried to take a couple of quick pictures to show you their colors... I'll replace these. Obviously, it was too dark plus, mom kept getting in the way. She's such an attention hound that we can't open the cage door to look at these babies and mom is right there in front. We'll bring them out and put them under the light in the bathroom tomorrow for better pictures.
