CH Curl Essence Dreams A-Lot ("Dreamer" ) is a chocolate color point.  He's got an absolutely gorgeous face.  Dreamer's mom and dad are Bellabee and Opie so he has that chocolate gene on both sides of his pedigree.  We never had professional pics of Dreamer taken because Chanan wasn't at the shows when we were showing Dreamer, but we took this one in the bedroom with him on my lap.

4/4..4 weeks old.

I didn't intend to take pictures or video today.  Mike and I both go in to check on kittens first thing in the morning, last thing at night and several times during the day.   I saw the babies walking around on the carpeted corner shelves when I went in this morning... I was really just in there to check food & water and to make sure everyone was ok.  They were so cute that I thought you might get a kick out of seeing them learning to climb and walk around.  Mom is a super attention hog.  It's hard for me to get any shots inside this long cage without Calli trying to get all the attention.  You'll see her walking in front of the camera several times.  The babies are a little clutsy still.  They are just getting their balance.  We put carpeted things in the cages for the babies to strengthen their legs while they are learning how to climb up and down without getting hurt. All my kitten cages may look a little on the cluttered side, but that's just so the babies will have lots of carpeted surfaces to put their claws into if they start to lose their balance.

3/30 update.

Just as I was getting ready to go to bed Saturday night, I heard a lot of crying from the nursery.  I went in to see what was going on and to make sure none of the kittens were hurt.  What I found was 2 escapees walking around outside their little "house".  They were crying because this was all unfamiliar territory for them.  I've had all the babies in a large canvas kennel with a soft pad inside since they were born.  It keeps them in one place with lots of room for mom and still allows mom to come and go as she pleases without worrying about the kittens wandering off.

Well, Saturday night, a couple of the babies decided they wanted to check out what was outside their little home.  As they did, they whined and cried.  I tried putting  them back inside with mom, but they wouldn't have anything to do with it.  They had decided it was time to go see the world outside their little house... They just kept crawling outside the side opening every time I put them back inside with mom.... Ultimately, I gave up.  Obviously, it was time for the kids to go outside and explore the rest of their little world.  This becomes a bigger issue than it sounds like.  Once the kittens start walking around in this big 8ft long cage, we have to attach strips of cardboard 6-8" high all along the inside of the entire cage so they don't try to push their little heads through the cage wire. So here I am, thinking it' time to slow down and get ready for bed when I now have to redesign the entire 8'ft cage for these explorers.  It's always safety first with kittens.  Once I got that done, I decided to pull the pad out of the kennel so that when they were tired, they could find their way back to mom.  Calli was totally confused about what I was trying to do.  She was sure she was supposed to be inside the kennel with her babies so even though the babies were out exploring, Calli wasn't going to give up the kennel ...after all, that's her nest.  Her babies are supposed to stay inside with her so she can watch over them and they can't wander off...  ok, so FINALLY, I got the pad out of the kennel and got mom out of the kennel so I could pull the kennel out of the cage.  The kittens continued to explore this new world outside of their little "house" for another half an hour or so.  I went back in later to check on them once they all quieted down and I found them snuggled up with mom on their fluff bed.

Bottom line is Calli's babies are now expanding their world.  On my morning check, they were all walking around exploring and starting to wrestle and play with each other.  I'll bring them out of the nursery this afternoon and put them in a area with more light so you can see them moving around.  I should be able to get those pics up by later this afternoon.

Here's my expected schedule for these kittens.
1st FVRCP 4/30 (8 wks)
2nd FVRCP 5/21 (11 wks)
vet visit for health cert week of 5/18-20 so we can ship between 5/21-5/27

New owners can pick the name for their new kitties.

3/26... new pics

We took these new pictures this morning.  I brought out the 2 bicolors first to see what differences we could see now that they are getting more colors.  Then Mike brought in the calico and black silver.
The 2 babies below look a lot alike in their faces, but now that their body colors are coming in, one has more white around the neck.  They both have white feet.  I expect we will start seeing more color differences in the next few weeks.  These kittens are still really small.  They whined and cried when we pulled them out and away from mom.  They settled down once they got all 4 feet on the ground and could crawl on top of each other.
Once we got good pics of the two look-alikes, Mike brought in the other 2... and yes, they are still all girls as amazing as that is.  When we brought them back to mom, she licked all over them and life was good again.

3/18...

These babies are just under 2 weeks old.  We might have gotten the sex wrong on one of them, but it looks like they are all girls.  That's really odd.  I can't remember having a litter of all girls, but...  here are new pics of their little faces.
I pulled Calli's babies out of their little "house" to take these pictures in better light.  I really wanted to get pictures of their little faces but all they wanted to do was to crawl on top of each other into a little pile.  I should be able to get some better pictures of them next week when they will start crawling around more.  I started with just the calico girl and one of the CPs.  Then, I brought out the silver girl and the other color point girl.  Right now, the 2 color points look like carbon copies of each other.  We'll see if they stay that way when their colors start to come in more.

First kitten pics taken at 3 days old.

We'll check for sexes of these kittens in a couple of days.  All 4 of these babies had Reserve Kitten Sales Agreements with deposits before they were even born.  We are still looking for a cat for us to show this year which means we could decide to keep one of these babies.  I'm texting these photos to the people who reserved kittens with deposits.  We were starting to be a little concerned with Calli went past out expected due date but the payoff was 4 strong healthy babies.  They looked a couple of days old when they were just 24 hours old.  We're really excited about these new babies.  To those who reserved with deposits, Congrats!  good move!

I took this one after I took the 2 of just the babies.  Calli insists on being the center of all the attention whenever we visit her and her new family.

3/13 nu pics

I planned to take new pictures of each of these new babies once their eyes were open so you could see their little faces, but I know you are anxious to see them now so I took these few photos this morning.
Mike and I will bring them out into better lighting over the weekend for better pictures.  We should have some eyes open by then and we should be able to determine sexes.    Mom is taking really good care of her new little family.  These babies are all getting nice and plumb.
